Woman of the Month: Sandy Iro

ree

At Female Executives of Texas, we are honored to highlight Sandra (Sandy) Iro, our Woman of the Month, whose inspiring journey and dedication to empowering women through fitness and mental health make her a true leader in the community. As the founder of Fitness Shero, Sandy has proven that the journey to wellness is not just about physical transformation, but also about mental strength, self-love, and connection.

Sandy’s path to becoming a fitness coach wasn’t easy, but it was one that has shaped her into the empathetic and impactful leader she is today. For over a decade, Sandy struggled with depression, weight fluctuations, and fibroids—challenges that deeply affected her confidence and energy. Through her personal battles, Sandy learned to prioritize herself, listen to her body, and embrace healing and growth. Her journey is a powerful reminder that challenges don’t define us—they shape us into stronger versions of ourselves. Sandy’s passion now lies in helping other women navigate their own struggles with health and wellness. She has combined her personal experiences with her professional expertise to create a fitness program that focuses not just on weight loss or body image, but on building mindset, motivation, and self-empowerment.

As the founder of Fitness Shero, Sandy’s mission is simple: to help women feel empowered from the inside out. She takes a holistic approach to health, focusing on a combination of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Sandy believes that fitness should be fun, realistic, and approachable. Her programs are designed to meet women where they are, creating a space for growth, healing, and transformation. Sandy’s unique approach includes creative workouts, a focus on weight loss, lean muscle building, and low-impact training, making fitness effective and enjoyable. She is known for her infectious energy, which motivates and inspires her clients to show up as their best selves—both in the gym and in life.

One of the most significant challenges Sandy has faced was balancing her own health struggles with the need to show up for others. Navigating depression, weight gain, and fibroids while managing a career in fitness was no easy feat. However, these obstacles became the foundation for her coaching philosophy. Sandy learned the importance of self-compassion and patience. She now encourages other women to give themselves grace and trust the process of healing and growth. Her personal experiences allow her to coach with empathy, simplicity, and authenticity—qualities that help women connect with her on a deeper level. Sandy’s journey serves as a reminder that healing and transformation are not immediate, but rather an ongoing journey that requires inner strength and persistence.

When asked what advice she would give to women aspiring to succeed in the fitness industry, Sandy shares the following: "Stay true to your why and don’t be afraid to start imperfectly. The fitness industry can feel saturated and intimidating, but your unique story, voice, and energy are your greatest assets. Focus on building real connections, leading with integrity, and continuously investing in your growth—personally and professionally. Success isn’t just about how many clients you have or how perfect your brand looks; it’s about how well you serve and how deeply you believe in the transformation you’re guiding others through." These words reflect Sandy’s deep commitment to not just growing her business but making a meaningful difference in the lives of the women she serves.

Sandy’s favorite quote, “Visualize your highest self and start showing up as her,” serves as the cornerstone of her mindset and approach to life. It’s a daily reminder that the journey to success and wellness begins with self-belief and intentional action.
